Survival Foods and Disaster Preparedness Supplies

It's scary that as we continue into the 21st century, we have to think about stockpiling survival foods.

Ever since the atomic bomb explosions that ended World War 2, the world has been obsessed with worldwide destruction. You'd think that if we could survive the worldwide destruction of that war, we could get pull through any other problems.

However, nobody wants a repeat of that war. Yet it's true that nuclear weapons are capable of wiping us off the planet.

And that's hardly the only threat. Starting with the environmental movement of the late 1960s, we've been worried about various ecological disasters. Those include global warming, global cooling (many scientists back then -- and now -- warn that we're heading for a new ice age -- overpopulation of people, massive starvation, dead oceans, pollution overwhelming life.

Many other people -- then and now -- worry that are system of fiat currency which continues to go down in value plus excessive debt will eventually result in a total collapse of the financial system . . . such as what we're told we barely escaped in the fall of 2008.

And of course we can't forget the possibility of a "manmade catastrophe" (the current White House politically correct term for terrorism) and natural events such as storms, floods, fires, hurricaines, volcanoes and earthquakes.

These kinds of events are fortunately local, but devastating to those affected. Even power outages can be a major problem, especially during the winter. I've been through them.

And of course, thanks to the movie 2012, many people are now worried the world is going to somehow end December 12, 2012 as allegedly predicted by the ancient Mayans.

Survival Acres is a company dedicated to bringing you the freeze-dried foods and mainstay emergency foods you need to survive any catastrophe. They carry major brands of storable food -- Rainy Day Foods, Mountain House, Alpine Aire, Richmoor, Natural High and Super Spectrim.

They claim to have four canneries and five warehouses -- the largest source of freeze dried and dehydrated foods. Over 1800 emergency preparedness food that can also be used by campers and backpackers.

If nothing else, you should keep on hand an emergency food supply of a three day pack food pack for every person you in family. You can choose from a wide variety of meals, so there's no excuse not to.

Super Spectrim provides a wide variety of nutritional supplements. You should also stock up on them, because obviously vitamins, minerals and other supplements will be in short supply -- and you'll need them even more to supplement your diet to cope with stress and prevent the need for professional medical attention, which may not be available.

Richmoor has been making camping foods since the 1950s, and started Natural High in the 1960s with the first line of natural, instant camping foods. They dehydrates some foods such as apples, but meats and expensive vegetables are freeze-dried. Their mylar packets are nitrogen flushed.

You don't have to believe in ancient Mayan prophecies to understand that we're all vulnerable to disasters and emergencies both global in scope and local. Everybody should stock up on some survival foods now -- before you need them.
